Histopathology Core

The HIHG Histopoatholgy Core performs routine histological staining and immunohistochemistry of brain tissue including, for example, three standard immunostainings of β-Amyloid, α-Synuclein and Tau of brain sections for the diagnosis of Alzheimer disease and Parkinson disease. We also perform immunofluorescent staining for confocal microscope and immunoelectron microscope.

Equipment:

  • Leica RM2125 rotary microtome for cutting paraffin-embedded tissue blocks.
  • Leica CM1850 UV cryostat for cutting frozen tissue.
  • Vibrotome Leica VT1200 and Leica EM UC6 ultramicrotome can serve the need for electron microscopical study of brain and other tissue for different projects.
