HIHG Biorepository Overview

The Biorepository facility is located in the Biomedical Research Building (BRB) and occupies 4000 square feet of space. It is one of the major core areas serving HIHG and the University of Miami. The primary responsibilities include biological sample storage, processing and extraction of DNA from various body fluids and tissue types. Upon request, we will mail pre-labeled Matrix 2D Tracker tubes for DNA shipment and storage to external investigators.

- -80°C freezers and -20°C freezers. All Freezers are on emergency generator backup power and are monitored 24-hours per day, 7 days a week to ensure temperatures do not fluctuate
