Core Resources

The Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG) offers a wide array of technological resources and expertise to assist in performing genetic and genomic studies of human diseases. Our technology core, located in the Biomedical Research Building (BRB), consists of sample banking (biorepository), genotyping, sequencing, gene expression and profiling services. We also assist in study design and statistical analyses. We have our own laboratory database and laboratory information systems to assist in sample processing, data storage and sample management aspects.

We provide technical support to all departments at the University of Miami (UM) involved in genetic and genomic research. We also accept technical service requests from other universities in or outside Florida. Our highly trained faculty and staff participate in collaborative research projects with a number of universities nationwide.
