Post Doctoral Fellowships

Post-doctoral fellowships in Molecular Genetics and/or Molecular and Cell Biology.

The interdisciplinary and highly-collaborative faculty of the MIHG aims to discover the genetic influences on human health and apply this knowledge to the practice of medicine through improved diagnostics, treatments, and medications. The faculty has a unique track-record identifying genetic risk factors for more than 60 diseases combined with currently available funding of more than $34 million from the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Defense.

We are searching for post-doctoral fellows to join our cutting-edge research team with projects in the following areas:
  • Age-related Macular Degeneration
  • Alzheimer disease
  • Autism
  • Cardiovascular genetics
  • Hereditary spastic paraplegias
  • Infectious diseases
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson disease
  • Peripheral Neuropathies/Axonopathies

Molecular Genetic Postdoctoral Fellowships in Parkinson Disease at the Miami Institute for Human Genetics (MIHG)

The Miami Institute for Human Genomics (MIHG) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking post-doctoral fellows to work on the molecular genetic aspects of Parkinson Disease (PD), as part of the multidisciplinary Morris K. Udall Parkinson Disease Research Center of Excellence, led by Jeffery M. Vance, M.D., Ph.D. (PI). The Udall Center is comprised of a team of molecular geneticists, neurobiologists, neurologists, bioinformaticians, and statistical and genetic epidemiologists who work together on studies related to PD.

Applicants will be working on research directed towards identifying genes and the mechanisms that they influence to increase the risk of PD. The successful applicant should have experience in molecular genetics and/or molecular biology techniques. The ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team is expected. Applicants with less than two years of postdoctoral experience are preferred.

The Miami Institute for Human Genomics is located in the highly diverse and fast-growing metropolitan area of South Florida near spectacular outdoor recreational opportunities. We also offer competitive post-doctoral salaries and benefits.

Qualified candidates interested in the position are encouraged to email their Curriculum Vitae to jvance@med.miami.edu with "Post-Doctoral Fellowship in PD" in the subject line
